Kelly is from a small beach town in Australia and is off on her first overseas experience. When the friends she arranged to meet in Thailand do not arrive she decides to backpack around the country alone. She is targeted by a crime ring, kidnapped and held on their compound as a prostitute. Laurie was dismissed from the American Military, for unbecoming conduct. She travels to Thailand to consider her future. She befriends a local boy who is a scout for a ring of sex slave traders, roaming the country looking for fresh faces. Fiona was raised in a poor family in the East of London. She lacks confidence and is attracted to the wrong crowd, becoming indebted to a drug lord. In order to repay her debt she is sent to Bangkok to act as courier for a drug shipment. Unfortunately the contact decides he will make more money if he keeps her as a sex slave. Karin is the spoilt youngest child of a wealthy Swedish industrialist. She travels to Bangkok for a relaxing vacation. She becomes bored with the city and her hosts, so decides to take up an offer to travel to an exotic island. She is drugged and taken to a secluded compound to be prostituted. HELD follows the four girls and their totally different responses when held in the same stressful situation. How they interact with each other and their captors, and how they each deal with the horror of their circumstances, will determine their chances of survival. It highlights the dangers of travelling, alone or otherwise, and shows how easy it is to misinterpret or lose control of a situation.
